Congresswoman Slams Republicans For $200 Dinners After They Cut Back Food Stamps

Democratic Representative Jackie Speier brought a cooked steak, a bottle of vodka and a can of caviar with her to the House of Representatives floor yesterday to call out the hypocrisy of the Senators who vote to cut food stamps when they themselves receive hundreds of dollars of taxpayer money to spend on food while traveling abroad.

Speier also pointed out members of Congress who have plenty of recipients of theSupplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which offers nutrition assistance for low-income individuals and families, in their districts, but for some reason oppose the idea of food stamps for working Americans.
